How does it work?

DIALTOCALL provides you with pre-configured VoIP devices that can be purchased with one off payment of just $30/device + Postage and handling. If you already have such device or want to purchase your own then we can help you set it up free of charge. Next, plug in one of these devices to your home ADSL/DSL router and get the other one connected to the ADSL/DSL or internet router of your loved ones anywhere in the world, connect normal telephone handsets to these devices and start making unlimited calls to each other. Its simple as that.

$10/month includes the service fee for both of these phone lines. The only drawback with this plan is that people that are not using DIALTOCALL calling services will not be able to call you on these numbers. In the above diagram, unlimited calls can be made between the two end points where the devices are connected, and to any other customer using DIALTOCALL residential phone services. These phone numbers are generic to DIALTOCALL and people using other service providers can not call you on this number. However, if you get a common local telephone numnber provided by Dialtocall, anyone using any other service providers will be able to call you at a cost of a local telephone call. How do I get a local telephone number for my area?

Dialtocall provides local telephone numbers in all major cities in Australia and in many foreign countries worlwide including New Zealand, USA, Canada, United Kingdom, France, Germany (most of the European countries), Japan,South Africa etc. As long as you have active DSL/ADSL internet connection at your premises we can offer you Australian local telephone numbers from just $15/month. If you would like to get a local phone number for a foreign country please contact Dialtocall to check the availability and price of the number. All Dialtocall provided phone numbers are just like the traditional PSTN phone numbers from Telstra, Optus, AAPT, AT &T, Verizon etc. The only difference is that the voice data is routed through the internet using packet switched technology rather than ciruit switch technology used by POTS (Plain old telephone service). But, that does not make and difference to you as an end user. Like with any other phone, when phone rings, pick up to answer the call or pick up and dial the number to call someone. You will not be charged for incoming calls and people from any other service providers can call you on this number. You can also make cheap local, national and international calls using DIALTOCALL services.

In the above diagram, two local telephone numbers are assigned to both ends. Family and friends from any other service providers can call you or the remote end at a cost of a local call.

If you send the device with a local telephone number overseas then anyone local to the assigned number can call that number from public telephone booth, home phone, mobile phone etc. using any other service providers at a cost of a local call despite of the geographic location of the remote end. Unlike the above $10 plan for two devices without local telephone numbers, you are not limited to making unlimited FREE calls only using the phone handset attached to the VoIP device. Unlimited FREE calls can be made between you and the remote end if you both have the VoIP device conneted to your Internet router. Otherwise, you could just send one device with local phone number to remote end and call this number at a cost of a local call.

In the above diagram, the device attached with DIALTOCALL local number has been sent overseas. When you or your family and friends call that number from your PSTN line at home, work, friend's house, or public telephone booth, you will be only charged for a local call by your phone service provider but the call will be forwarded to overseas, which means you will be talking to anyone in this world at a cost of a local phone call. As there is only one device used in this scenario, the remote end will not be able to make FREE calls to you due to not having DIALTOCALL device installed at your home to receive the FREE calls. However, they can still call you or any other destination using DIALTOCALL services. It may be cheaper for you to receive calls from overseas if the country you live in has cheaper call rates than the country where the device resides. For instance, your family living in Afghanistan could make a phone call to you in Australia using DIALTOCALL services and pay for the cheaper calling rates to Australia rather than you having to call from Australia and pay higher calling rates to Afghanistan.

Do I need to sign any contract?

No, you do not need to sign any contract. The only condition is that if you decide to terminate our services you need to notify DIALTOCALL in writing and that the service fee needs to be paid one month in advance.

Can I infact send your device to anywhere in the world and make free calls?

Absolutely. Please do consider the rules and regulations of the country where the device is being sent to. Some countries might consider it as illegal act, and DIALTOCALL does not take any responsibilities and liabilities where such problems encountered.
